Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has signed a partnership agreement with Citrix Systems, a provided of cloud services, mobile workspaces, virtualization, mobility management and networking services. Under the terms of the contract, Citrix will power the SLT Akaza Cloud platform upgrade. SLT will use the Citrix Cloud Platform on Akaza cloud applications. The services currently offered by Akaza include Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Virtual Data Centres (VDC), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS), Communication-as-a-Service (CaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

With this partnership, SLT Akaza Cloud platform will provide enhanced offerings that give organizations self-managed web-based portals for organizations, allowing them to select the exact amount of resources they require – storage, computing power, RAM, software etc, and when required. Organisations will also be able to build ‘pay as you go’ and ‘pay as you grow’ model-based cloud services.
