Russian national operator Rostelecom has started works for the expansion of its fibre network in the city of Kurgan. The operator plans to cover 90 percent of households in the city with a GPON network by the end of the year. The national operator also completed the deployment of a 60 km fibre line connecting the agglomerations of Pervomayskoye and Komsomolsk in the Tomsk region, as well as links to Yezhi and Sergeyevo villages. The capacity of the lines to each agglomeration totals 1 Gbps
